If you’re all paperless, how do you review my bank statements?

We work strategically with technology and automation to save time and increase efficiency.  The easiest way for us to receive your bank statements is to link your bank account with our accounting software, QuickBooks Online.  The transactions are automatically populated for our review and classification and the bank statements are accessible at the end of the month.  There is also a feature within QuickBooks Online that allows business owners to upload documents for their bookkeeper’s review.  And of course, there’s still the traditional emailing of documents.

What if I want you to manage my accounts payable?  Can you print checks?

You could mail your checks to us, we print them, and mail them back for your signature.  In practice however, most clients choose to take advantage of QuickBooks Bill Pay by Melio which can send payments via ACH transfer or credit card.  This saves time waiting for postal mail and also keeps a “paper” trail of when payments were mailed, received, and cleared.

Will I meet you in person?

We offer a free 30-minute consultation via video conferencing.  We also will have several phone calls and video calls throughout the setup process.  Most clients enjoy having a monthly check in as well, where we go over your financial statements, any numbers that seem off, and you’re A/R aging report.  With the speed of businesses moving online and technology keeping pace, we find in person meetings are no longer necessary.

What program do you use for bookkeeping?

We work almost exclusively in QuickBooks Online.  This allows both you as the business owner and your bookkeeper to enter transactions in the same company file.  It is also not computer-specific, so you can enter transactions from any workstation or location.  It also includes access to a selection of add-on apps that can help streamline industry-specific needs.

I want to work with you, but I don’t have QuickBooks Online!

If you’re currently using spreadsheets (or shoeboxes 😊) for your bookkeeping, we can get you set up in QuickBooks Online pretty easily.  Most business owners find this saves them time and headache. 

If you’re currently using QuickBooks Desktop and want to convert to QuickBooks Online, we can help!  We will walk you through the process of downloading your company file from QB Desktop and saving it to the cloud, so that we can download it into QB Online and get you all set up.
